Brief Biography: I served as a Chaplain at John 316 Mission (2015-2018). https://john316mission.org/family-youth/.

I live in the Lynchburg, Virginia area with my wife and currently a senior at Liberty University working toward a masters in Pastoral Counseling. We moved here to further my education to help the hurting recover from addiction and lack and especially help those veterans with PTSD. My wife and I are active at Providence Veterans Farm, Concord, Virginia, passionately helping soldiers with PTSD. https://www.providencefarm.org/

I facilitated weekly Chapel at John 316 Mission providing compassionate relevant Biblical messages promoting a grace-based, adult-to-adult environment for learning and growth, not a punishment and reward environment for behavior modification. I effectively presented Scripture to people in the Chapel with a focus of bringing over-arching Biblical principles into practical daily living and prayed with people during their visit as needed protecting client confidentiality of information.

I prayed with the people through the week who fill out prayer request cards. It’s a joy when I get one or two that I connect with. I provided weekly Biblical counsel and guidance with follow up prayer via phone addressing peoples’ spiritual, mental, emotional or physical issues to strengthen their capability of living free of addiction or lack. I provided Biblical application to empower each client regarding Christian character development in financial planning, budgeting, healthy relationships, parenting, grief recovery and other recovery endeavors. One lady I called for follow up prayer was on her exercise bike at the gym. She stated, “You couldn’t have caught me at a better time.” My prayers help meet their needs and help them fulfill their potential in life.

I documented people’s progress in the form of case notes on prayer cards and report urgent needs to my supervisor. I provided a teachable spirit with an intrinsic motivation for learning and support the goals of John 316 Mission. I believe in “Duty, Honor, Country” and paying it forward as a Financial Peace University Instructor. I taught couples, enabling them to get out of financial bondage by living a debt free life and to help enlighten, encourage and educate the hurting.

I was very involved at John 316 Mission, serving as weekly Chaplain with my wife as Worship Leader and I executed any task that was assigned. I loaded and unloaded food trucks, replenished food shopping carts for appointments. I rotated produce, distributed food, clothing and bus tokens to people. I helped with Thanksgiving Day food distribution, helped load food items in people’s cars, reported serious needs of people to supervisor and fill in on emergencies when other Chaplains couldn’t attend Chapel.

I had the honor to serve for over 20 years for the US Government as a Public Servant, and as a Veteran for over 17 years in the US Armed Services, including tours of active duty in Germany, Bosnia and Panama. I enjoy serving my country and God. I look forward to inspiring Peace, Joy and Harmony at your church and daily lives and hope to answer some of life’s deepest questions in your relational walk with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
